I was born in Killarney, Manitoba, Canada, where I spent my childhood engaged in farming, cultivating crops, and raising pigs. I attended Lakeview Mennonite Brethren Church (now known as Lakeview Community Church) in Killarney, where I welcomed Jesus into my life. Influenced by my parents and later by the youth leaders at my church, Jesus found a special place in my heart and soul as my savior. After graduating from high school, I pursued my studies at Bethany College, located north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry.

During my time at Bethany, I traveled to Utah for a mission trip coinciding with the 2002 Winter Olympics. It was there that I formed a connection with South Mountain Community Church, which led to an internship opportunity for the summer of 2002. This internship eventually evolved into a position as their youth pastor until 2008, followed by a role as an associate pastor at their St. George campus until December 2013. In this period, significant events unfolded in my life. I met my wife, Melissa, and we tied the knot in the autumn of 2005. Our children, Ella, Nathaniel, and Evan, came into our lives while we were living in St. George. Tragically, Nathaniel passed away at eight months due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 2012. This heartbreaking experience profoundly affected both Melissa and me, ultimately leading to my resignation from South Mountain Community Church.

God pulled us back into ministry a year later by bringing us to a church in Salt Lake City as their youth pastor, where God began the work of healing our hearts and getting me back on my feet. In the fall of 2017, Melissa and I felt the Lord leading us to plant a church in Tooele County. This is where the journey towards Lakeview Church began with us meeting new people who have become our Lakeview Church family and we launched Stansbury Park campus Easter of 2019. It has been an unbelievable journey watching God work on the lives of so many people in Tooele County. Even more profound is that He invited us along to watch what He has been doing and continues to do. Pastoring was never something I expected to be doing in my life. I am a farm boy, not a pastor. But God has shown me truth, grace, and mercy in my life. I want to be where He is working.Outside of church life, I am an avid collector of Lego. I still play hockey and quite enjoy watching my teams, the Winnipeg Jets and the Utah Mammoth. I still like the farm. Melissa and I have chickens and will hopefully be adding goats to the farm again. I have enjoyed being a musician most of my life and dabble in bass and acoustic guitar. I enjoy offroading in our jeep and driving fast cars whenever it works out.
